Model ReviewsThe Dodge Caliber is a fun, well-rounded package, combining the versatility of a sport utility vehicle with the value and fuel-efficiency of a compact car. The Caliber offers a choice of three front-wheel drive trim levels: SE, SXT and R/T. The SE and SXT trims are equipped with a 158-hp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, while R/T trims have a more powerful 172-hp 2.4-liter engine; both engines are paired with either a standard 5-speed manual transmission or an available Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). To the base SE trim, the SXT adds 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, cruise control and satellite radio, while the R/T is further equipped with a sport suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and a 6-disc CD changer with DVD audio capability. Popular options include a power sunroof, leather upholstery, wireless connectivity and a multimedia system with navigation. Every Caliber is outfitted with front airbags, an inflatable driver knee blocker and side curtain airbags for front and rear occupants. Anti-lock brakes are standard on all but the SE, and an electronic stability control system, including traction control and brake assist, is optional on SXT and R/T trims. New for 2010, all trim levels are equipped with active anti-whiplash front head restraints.For 2010, the Dodge Caliber carries over with minimal changes. The SXT and R/T trims now have standard heated exterior mirrors, and the R/T gets a six-way power driver?s seat. Additionally, the 148-hp 1.8-liter engine (previously standard on the SE and SXT) is no longer available, and the performance-oriented SRT4 has been removed from the model lineup.
